I was lucky enough to get one of your mackerel sandeels at plugbash & I did quite well on it a few weeks ago in SoCo.

We were getting beat up good by the surf, so pics were impossible....

Although the Ayc probably will not split or crack, it will start absorbing water, making the plug a bit heavier & effecting its action.

I just put in a 1 3/4 hp powermatic w/ 4" pvc, & chip bucket, super quiet & sucks out most everything, I have 4 machines on it & am quite happy with the results.

Is there a reason you do not turn the head & the tail at the same time? Useing one longer piece of glued up stock.
