I've done it both ways, and I don't think I've really noticed a difference in performance.

But for me, it is many times easier to work with the turned blanks if they still have the square ends...

Well I picked up 2 blanks today, a gsb 120 1M and a Century Stealth (10foot rated 2-4). Boy are the century rods nice. I'd have liked to have brought home 3 or 4 of those.

I always wire before I epoxy, so I have the nose and tail loops to work with and I use them to hold the plugs withouth getting my fingers in...

Eric, my spinner has a 12" disc and I can do a dozen at a time. My hooks are a couple inches in from the outside edge of the circle, and i think theres like 2 1/2 inches between hooks.
