Doing the wraps...
The through wire is bent into a loop in the usual way for the front loop making sure that the loop diameter is large enough for the eye bolt.
The wire is put through and the rear eye loop also...

I'm sure that you're right about the weighting...
I'm sure that you're right about the weighting position - I was only trying to suggest an alternative balancing approach - the rubber band as compared with the blade edge or pencil side...:)
