I never used Gorilla, but Titebond III is waterproof, and not quite as messy and never yet have had a glue seam failure.

Scuff it thoroughly in a couple of directions, front , back and sides. Prime with clean metal Rustoleum primer and finish with Rustoleum Gloss black, white or yellow. Been doing it a couple of years...

I love building when I do everything right ; tend to beat myself up for stupid stuff, especially epoxy errors.....oh well....they're only plugs.

I thought maybe the clearcoat with added scuff...

I thought maybe the clearcoat with added scuff woulkd result in a more durable finish as end result. A few of my plugs had problem


My problem is not waiting long enough after painting...

Is it necessary to put on a clear coat (over paint) before epoxying plugs? What is it called-is it clear laquer? How much "roughing-up" is needed? Will this clear coat prevent fish-eyes on...

I like the new eyes on light colors only-especially white. the sticky backing seems thinner than the regular witchcraft eyes.

Don't think the tail hook is necessary-my A-40's swim fine without (just a teaser) -the two sets of 3/0 or 4/0 trebles should be all you need. A tailhook sometimes hurts the fish anyway...
