My grill can put out amazing even high heat, better than any I've ever cooked on...you just don't get the smoke. I have contemplated an egg but never pulled the trigger.

15 or so years ago I found a KitchenAid grill at Homegoods for 50% off which was still a thousand bucks. Aside from replacing the burners once it's been a champ and looks like it could survive WW3....
