Great thread, Ross. I think how much I learned from others, especially my father and realize without that help I'd be even more of a googan than I am now. I don't come across many newbies in the places I fish because they are either remote spots or I fish hours that most sane people wouldn't be out at. But I've seen guys at the canal get really short with people who clearly didn't know what they were doing, because they crossed a line, or jumped in too close. I think they at least deserve some tips on how much space should be given, or when it's ok to cast into a current when there are other guys fishing the same area. If someone tries to help out and the newbie refuses to listen because they think they already know what to do or they're just a #^&#^&#^&#^&head, then they become a googan and they can be treated as one.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio
