For the 1988 230 Mako
CON
the transom and freeboard is super low I often take on water from the back when drifting rips and the freeboard is it to my knee which makes it not a great boat for little ones.

Pro

Solid hull been out in a lot of nasty weather and boat handles very good in weather I probably should not be out in the cabin also has a lot of space for its size
Do what everyone has done with older open transom makos, close it and put the O/B on a bracket. classicmako.com to see a million different projects done.
