Shore fishing is so so right now. No albies to speak of yet. A few from boats but none from shore that I have heard of. Bones, the same. But the boats are getting them offshore in fair numbers. Night bass fishing is pretty good. Not a lot of giant fish but lots of fish in the teens to low 20's with the occasional 30+. Bluefishing was great earlier but has since slowed.
All this will change in the coming weeks. From the boat I am seeing lots of breaking fish around the island, mainly bluefish but this is a good sign.
Hopefully when the water temp drops a little more it will kick into high gear. We have peaked and are holding at 73 right now. There were some spots in ACK sound that hit 77 this summer. Summer is over and fall has starting, the amount of daylight we are getting is falling like a rock right now. These recent moon tides we have been seeing are crazy...some of the currents were pushing 5 knots in places the last couple days. (I am the boat going in the wrong direction all the time) The fish will put on the feed bag starting this week IMO if this friggin east wind will stop and blow sw for a couple days!
