I gathered it was mostly, if not all, freediving (although I did see a guy in scuba gear once, come out of the water at Watch Hill Light, with 2 big keeper stripers, this guy says he uses tanks all the time and still kills fish).

You don't have to go deeper than 25 feet? That's one of the things that gives me pause, as I'm not going to push my luck freediving down 40+ feet and trying to hold my breath longer than I should. I love fresh striper, flounder, and tautog, but it ain't worth killing myself over.

I do some camping every year in Narragansett, I always thought it would be fun to try at the East Wall, which is very close to where I camp.

I may PM you at some point to get some tips on where to start. You don't use a boat or kayak?
