Don't judge everything by the weigh in...lots of fish are released or not weighed in. There are fish around. Bass and blues are being caught every night. Albies are being caught but they are not big. I've never had much luck on bigger albies when the big schools are around. The one big one I ever caught was a rogue. I was coming in from Paradise towards east beach and noticed a really nice rip. Just happened to be at the right place during that tide. I circled back around, put out the rods and trolled through it. Bamm!
Maybe the bigger albies like to hunt alone and prefer the washing machine where they can use their size to their advantage.
The schools are a lot of fun though if you want some action!
