Bingo, he nailed it on the head.

The spot in question is scenic Horton's Point, North Fork of Long Island, New York.

Rocky...like Montauk and RI and the Elizabeths. However, it's a lot of little gravel and some HUGE boulders, but not a lot of boulders like you would see in New England.

Steep hill to get down to the water ... just like some of the beaches in Truro, except rocky.

However, since it's Eastern LI Sound, the surf is gentle relative to the open ocean.

As JohnR noticed - big tide movements.

Great togging spot, and some nice striper fishing. Honestly, I just go there for the views. Just a hop skip and a jump away from one of the boat striper Meccas - Orient Point.
