I shifted back over to freshwater kayak fishing.
I find that the fish are as active if not more active than during the warmer months.
I fished a local river this weekend and was happy with the dozen or so fish that were caught.
They weren't all monsters, but when taken in the context of what I was going after, they all were "monsters"!!!

I got hand sized sunfish, white perch, jumbo yellow perch, decent sized bass and large pikerel. I lost the first fish when it threw the hook. It was big, O mean rod bending big, and I couldn't pull it to the surface to even see what kind of fish, but after it got free, I knew that there were more like that on this river.

Oh, and I was using a 1" white Mr. Twister on a 1/16 oz jig.
Talk about putting the ball in THEIR court!!!

I lost a rubber frog lure last week to a pike/pickerel (didn't see the fish) that inhaled the frod and bit through the braid in a heartbeat.

Sure, the striper fishing may have been horrible this year, but the freshwater fishing has been phenominal!!!

I am a legend in my own mind!
