GS, that's exactly the same way we fished pogies for King macs last month, but they let 'em set the hook by themself and only use 1-2 lbs. drag on 17 lb mono line. I got very good at rigging those baits after a couple times , it's easy. I wish there were pogies around again. You can do the same thing with scup ya know.
Well almost exactly, actually the nose hook was a small live bait hook.
