He went in to the hospital on Thursday morning. He smashed his back on a curb. My dad called and told me he had a small heart attack but he would be out on Saturday. As soon as I heard that I headed to the hospital to spend some time with him. He was just looking at me smiling in a warm but strange way that I have never seen from him before. I went back to see him again Friday. Soon after I left he passed in his sleep. It sounded very peaceful. My grandmother is doing much better than I thought, and I now realize what real strength is. (they were married for over 70 years) I feel blessed, as I am sure the rest of my family do. Not many kids get to have grandparents until they are 40. What they had was a true definition of love. When I went to go see my parents on Saturday, I had forgotten my wedding ring (I got it from Walmart cuz my fingers were to fat at the time to fit in my father in law's that was attempted to be fitted for me and I was getting married the next day). My wife and I always said we would get a fancy one. Well, 8 years later I walk into my parents and see his band on the table. A perfect fit! It was him smiling down on me. I'm on my way to the wake now. Thanks for all the well wishes.
