Wouldn't it make more sense for the tags to be issued to the fisherman and applied when a salable fish is put in the well. Like deer tags, etc.
What happens to the bass that a seller can't find a buyer for before they aren't marketable anymore? How do they end the season and ensure the last few thousand pounds can be sold. Seems odd to me.
I do like the reductions but where did this come from? If I remember correctly from the last round of discussions about this, there would be no change until 2015 and it seemed less than likely that there would be any significant reductions. These seem significant.
