Can't help, sorry but have the same problem on this iPad with one of my mail accounts
Solved it on the PC by changing that accounts SMTP as you suggest,,,, from what I can see on the iPad , only the incoming port # can be changed in the advanced settings , I see no place to change the SMTP port,,,
If I find a fix I'll post here
