Steve, I'm an old Volvo fan and card carrying hate club member. I've actually owned a few a 122s and a and 142E, the later was a sweat ride and I'm surprised I'm alive to say that. I remember too many 80 mile an hour rides to favorite ponds, with the canoe strapped on the roof at 4 am.
When they ran they were sweat, but go try to find a good volvo mechanic. The last shop I used was in Weymouth somewhere, near the Marias restarant, I'm not even sure they are around anymore. I'll throw a couple bags in my truck tonight so I don't forget.
