My worst season (surfcasting) since the 1980s but its been trending down for the last half dozen years. I fish live eels quite a bit but my first eel caught bass this season wasn't until the last week of July! Lots of bait but not many fish from the local Newport surf areas. A decent body of very small bass during the last two weeks - something I hadn't seen in summer for quite a few seasons.
