Pretty much what JohnR said. I fish hard and often, but not like the guys who swim. But when I know they're are fish around and I have the time, I will fish for double digit hrs in an almost manic state until I find them. I tend to fish like this in June and then again from Sept-Nov. I try to fish smarter now, but I can always justify fishing for hours because there's always a stage of the tide to fish somewhere. Last Sept I fished from dusk til dawn knowing that there were good fish around. When the sun came up I followed the birds and then went looking for bait. Ended up fishing for a total of 16 hrs straight. In the 16th hr I took my first bone, from shore that was just shy of 10 lbs, on a live Mac in RI
Flip-side is that putting in that much time and not having much success is a horrible downer.
