I would consider that range it's "sweet spot". It is a very versatile rod, and throws bucktails equally well as plugs in the 2.5-3 oz range. I generally dont throw much stuff over 3 oz., unless I was at the canal. The rod is a steal at the price/ condition, as they retail for over $400 brand new. If you are local to me, I'de be happy to meet up so you can see for yourself.
