If a crook thinks your hiding something under a messy-left sweatshirt, that's enough to make them pop the window to check. I know people who leave their vehicle unlocked for this exact reason, short of stealing the vehicle, they leave nothing to be stolen and doors unlocked so the crook doesn't have to break the window.
School is out....kids will be kids, never mind the possible junky that strolls on by.

I do that at the Canal, too. I'll even leave some loose change in the cupholder so they don't smash a window out of spite.
