needle valves
i worked for a long time in
a small engine shop
needle valves can be turned all the way
IN until they close
then screw them out 1 1/4 turns
that should be a close to 'good" initial setting
then try turning them just a quarter turn
SLOWLY while running one way or the other
make sure your air filter isn't clogged
