A couple of things. The boat yard I have been using for the last 10+ years was Yamaha and Honda / Tohatsu. I liked the Tohatsu, it is the same as the Honda, other than color, and was about 1800 cheaper because it wasn't branded Honda.
They we also recommending Honda / Tohatsu over Yamaha because of issues that have seen still in the 250 and 300 engines.
Final decision was Honda offered financing Tohatsu didn't. Got 7 years at 3.99%.
