Camping on a mountain top during a thunder storm???

Young couple from Duxbury were taking a year off to explore Australia and were camping out on a "restricted" mountain top when they were caught in a thunderstorm.

Result: The guy died from getting hit by lightening.
The girl was injured and unsuccessfully attempted CPR.
Nearby hikers/campers also attempted CPR for an hour, but they were also unsuccessful. Took rescue crews 4 hours to reach them due to the remoteness of the mountain site.

I don't know about you, but I would have checked the forecast BEFORE heading to that mountain top, so that the trip would be fun. I also would have broken the record for the fastest descent from that area at the first hint of thunder/lightening.

Horrible news to hear, but when you take risks you WILL end up having to deal with the consequences.
I feel sorry for her because beyond what she had done, there was nothing more she could do except wait for help to retrieve his body.

Waiting to see if she will get fined for camping in a restricted area.
(Restricted due to consistent weather problems and remoteness)

I am a legend in my own mind!
