I had an eagle in my yard in CT, I thought was a gold eagle. After some research, I believe it was a Juvenile Bald Eagle. The white crest/head doesn't appear until they enter adulthood, something like 7-8 years if I recall.

Enormous wing span, landed on the kids swing set, so I had a good scale. Wish I could have gotten a picture.

This is in CT, about 30 minutes east of the CTR up in the Hartford vicinity. The river hosts many bald eagles today.

Mike - There are golden eagles, though they're rarely sighted in RI. Huge birds with a wing span of 5 feet or more.[/QUOTE]
