John did you use it on a decorative butt wrap? That is where the problems will arise, also sometimes in the guide wraps. I have found no advantage to NCP black thread. If one of you guys has I'm all ears.

What happens is The NCP thread when hit with color presever(cp) expands - imagine the mess.

Some color preservers (flxcoat) leave a smokey blue hue on black thread that only shows up after you epoxy.

So why do I bring these up - KIS - Keep it simple. This is for the new builders. If you use regular black thread all the time cp is not an issue cause you can use it or not without adverse affects. Gudebrod 811 is ok. Im going to try floor wax soon. (acrylic)

Another deep thought on to cp or not on any build:
- No cp & the epoxy penetrates to the blank
- Cp then epoxy the epoxy does not go all the way to the blank which if you ever want to re build years down the road makes it much easier. From what I have seen no strenght is lost by using cp.

Stealth rods look great however a single strand of mettalic can really set them off. I'm partial to a blast of silver in the black.
