What Toby said. I blew up my VS pliers up with a .300 winchester magnum round, with the mil-dot crosshairs right on the cutters at 100 yards.

I have two pairs of Shimano stainless pliers - less than $20 apiece. They are prone to rust, but hey if you take care of them they'll last you a long time. If you rinse them off with fresh water and hit them with WD-40 you're golden. Once in a while when you've got time scrub them down with comet or ajax scouring powder and they're like knew. If you can take care of your pliers, I doubt you'd spend $240 worth of replacement stainless pliers in your lifetime!
