I think fatigue plays a factor in getting seasick too. The more tired you are, the more susceptible you will be to getting seasick. This is just based on my own experience.

Dave didn't get much sleep the night before - having gotten up at 4 a.m. to make the trip up to Quincy. In retrospect I wasn't surprised he got sick - just wish we had prepared for this contingency beforehand. Oh well, next trip...
