See, it's not just the reef or the marina. If I'm down at the marina and I decide to hit the reef, I fish the entire stretch of beach inbetween. Why not? I'm going by. I might as well. Unfortunately, our beaches are better suited to swimming than fishing although you can get decent fish off there.
Case in point, my buddy Eric, an old irish fella went down there with a light action 6 foot rod strung with 8 lb test and started tossing a sassy shad. Hooked up with a 22lb bass. They come around the beaches so don't discount them. Although I believe that if you hook up with fish there, they are just passing through as opposed to other places where they are actually holding.
