No offense taken but as a seasoned life long blowboater , here’s my take.
If I’m sailing in Newport, on any given day I have at least 5 to 20 incidents where a motor boat is headed right at me. It’s always between ft Adams and hammer smith farm or between rose island and Jamestown. I see them and I hold my course with the logic that if I change my course it could confuse them. By this, I mean if a boat is 100 yards away and bearing down on me... the real Aholes will slightly alter course and wake me.. never will they alter their speed or do anything to show any consideration to the epic waves some of them throw. That said I’d never let one ram me like this guy did. My logo is if I can see someone driving, they can see me, but if I can’t see anyone I will definitely make a last minute course change. It’s just common sense.
