If I’m sailing in Newport, on any given day I have at least 5 to 20 incidents where a motor boat is headed right at me. By this, I mean if a boat is 100 yards away and bearing down on me... the real Aholes will slightly alter course and wake me.. never will they alter their speed or do anything to show any consideration to the epic waves some of them throw. That said I’d never let one ram me like this guy did. My logo is if I can see someone driving, they can see me, but if I can’t see anyone I will definitely make a last minute course change. It’s just common sense.

I see very small chop (little wind to support quick turns) in the picture so tacking that sailboat in a last minute attempt could have resulted in a crash if the idiot not driving the charter snapped out of it and turned suddenly at the closing moments.
