BackBeach Jake...yes we simply cut the old tank into a couple pieces, easier to get out and I gotta clean all the sludge out of it anyway. As far as getting a new tank in, I can get a standard size tank, 275 gallons, into most homes without too much trouble! If not then we can look at the alternative, they do make several other shorter and skinnier tanks for just such an occasion. If you have a question about fitting a tank in your basement, it is not as simple sometimes as just measuring the size of the tank and then measuring the door, there are other variables at work and I don't have time to type it all out.
