Hey my friend, I live in the "interior" called Burrillville. When I was fishing 100 nights a year it was Narragansett, Watch Hill, Tiverton or the Cape. Everyone of those were 125+ mile R/T.

Back in the 80s, pre-moratorium, during the moratorium and after the moratorium. I got skunked for 2 Friggin" years coming out for the moratorium.
You mentions "too much effort for not much reward" If you are a Striper fisherman, that was what you did. Now, everyone goes to the Canal with their smartphones and waits for a post with a pole number so they can kill a 40 and, after they take a million selfies, they throw that noble fish in a god damn dumpster.

No boat, back in the suds.
