I’ve been talking to my daughter about this, she was telling me that the reason this drug is working for treatment is because of its immune-regulating properties. A lot of people are dying because their own immune systems are raging out of control and start attacking healthy cells. Administering this drug at the right time help to regulate it. The right time is key, as they do have to let the body’s immune system do it’s job against the virus.
I tend to listen to her as she works at the University of Maryland Medical Center and studies viruses.
