Actually, all the Trump constructed wall is "new" wall. It is all part of a new wall "system" that is highly effective as opposed to the old fence system which had little effect. And the reason that existing fence is being replaced first is because it is in strategic areas that are deemed more critically in need of wall protection.
As of June 23 "In addition to the over 215 miles of new border wall system constructed along the Southwest Border, there are an additional roughly 340 miles currently under construction with another approximately 183 miles in the preconstruction phase. So it is moving along, slowed down by the persistent attempt by the Dems to block it. Had the Dems kept their earlier desire for an expanded border barrier, rather than trying to block it, it could have already been fully funded.
Or maybe you are disappointed to have been duped into buying into his con
No, I am disappointed in being duped by the disingenuousness of the Dems wanting a barrier, then blocking it for political purposes.
And Trump has done other things the Dems didn't do to slow down and try to stop illegal immigration across the southern border, which kind of shows they really didn't want to do so, or were too incompetent to do so. For instance, we now have a deal with Mexico wherein it stops illegal migrants at their border and returns them to where they came from, or, if they claim the need for asylum, offers it to them as being the first country they landed in, or holds them while they legally apply for asylum into the US. Illegal immigration is way down, and was so even before the Covid driven economic slowdown.
and now he as a hapless administration that has resulted in so many more deaths and a rapidly failing economy.

Again, you just say stuff. His administration has done quite a lot of good in its three and a half years. It's been pointed out several times, but falling on your deaf ears or deflected by the leftist media reports that inform you, it doesn't exist. So you can flatly call it "hapless."
Vague notions of "so many more deaths" caused by this simply stated haplessness are easy to spout if they don't have to be actually proven by specifically documented facts, not just by politically driven claims of not acting quick enough, or not providing this or that, of not listening to so and so.
I could just as easily say a lot more deaths could have occurred if he had not done what he has done. But I will say that the bulk of saving lives rests at the state, local, and personal level, not in the hands of the President. And I think he has done more of his share of responsibility than many of the governors have done with their share.
But I do understand the need of the opposition to paint their picture.
And, as I have said over and over, for me, it is not about Trump. I absolutely get why you and the Dems need to make it about Trump. And if it were merely about politics for me, I would be doing the same thing, just saying stupid stuff about the disaster that is Biden. Or Pelosi and Schumer, for that matter. Making it about them rather than the real issue.
So I know I have wasted time and effort here defending Trump from politically driven and incessantly reiterated claims, because for you and the Dems it has to be about him. So contradicting any of your "just say" stuff will have no effect. You will keep on just saying it.
