I know what you mean about getting equipment down a bulkhead to a cellar, I did that long ago before I built my shop. The cast iron top comes off so it makes it a bit easier. Lay some plywood in the steps and lower it down slowly. Once it is there it is worth it.
I think Sawstop makes a contractor version. Check those out too
