Pains me to say it...but when pulling them up from those kinds of depths, bad things happen. We try to slow the retrieve, but even then...they still come up bug-eyed or bladderless sometimes..... read somewhere about puncturing the bladder...tried it, but it didn't seem right? Even tried pushing it back in...

Anyone versed in ichthyology? Is it safe to puncture?
Hollow needle...I'm sure we all carry one in our tackle bag...
