but my panel is a nightmare to remove and replace even 1 switch
The more I learn, the easier it seem to order a prelabeled switch panel that can be installed over cut out hole in dash. I will use starboard to replace the fake wood photograph material and do the cut outs myself. Still thinking this is for next off season, but you never know. I am accumulating parts and materials.

And yes, the compass light needs its own switch for that very reason.... It is really only a back up to my electronics the majority of the time. (also have to keep metal objects in the glovebox underneath away from it...)
