yep. we havent been back since 2021 but i keep up on island happenings a bit through a friend who spends a month there every summer. I understand why some people who call Cuttyhunk home might want to fight so hard against any kind of change - its a fragile ecosystem. of course progress can be good and i know it must be a delicate balance of moving things forward but preserving the history and tradition of such a special place...
Anyway, we're finally heading back there this july with my dad and brother for our "annual" pilgrimage. This time I'm bringing my older son (he'll be 8) for his first time. It will be nice to have three generations of us there together.
I'm excited for him to see what a slower pace of life looks like and the kind of freedoms that can afford a kid his age.
