Years ago a Palestinian peace activist remarked “You can seek to understand the reasons behind terrorism in the region without implicitly endorsing it.” I think people tend to be easily offended and use it as an excuse to deny themselves any additional reason or thought which is pretty lazy if you are blessed with the mental capacity.
Booing our National Anthem is offensive but pales in comparison to the flippant disrespect and threatening position POTUS has taken. If Canada makes it to the finals, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Americans respond in kind and I’d be willing to wager if present you’d be right with them.
