I remember an outragious statement (from way back when )made by a marion cop. SCENARIO>>>>My brother was driving me to a dentist appointment on Marion point when we had to stop on the narrow two lane road because an oil truck appeared to be making a delivery. Unable to pass him because of oncoming traffic we were waiting a full minute and suddenly realized he was in reverse and about to crash into us. My brother panicked and tried to shove the station wagon into reverse a bit to quickly and ended up in park instead.
The next think we heard was a huge ca-BLAM and the grr -rrr >rroar of his engine with him backing up like a bulldozer with us being pushed backwards 197 feet in a perfectly straight line indicated by all four of our tires leaving a thick BLACK trail of rubber. Finally my brother thinking to turn the wheel instead of just leaning on the horn having both feet on the brake and screaming out the window, our rear end swung out and the driver saw us in his rear-view mirror and "finally stopped". Now.... we couldnt get out of the car because both front fenders had been pushed up and over the front doors just enough to make it impossible to open them.
After climbing out the windows and seeking help from a neighbor a cop shows up with" extra attitude " saying and get this. " I'm going to testify in court that you guys were driving in excess of 100 miles per hour and skidded into the back of this oil truck" Talk about fabrication. Also saying that we were both LYING after individual interogations and couldnt care less if we might have been injured.
