Thanks guys for the tips. I think i phrased the question wrong.
What i really wanted to know was if the open grain should be on top or the side of the plug?[ Like a baseball bat]Which would give the plug the most stength or doesn' it make any difference?
I'm thinkin razor lips spliting plugs here. THANKS
