I'd go with a Batson RS1087. Half the price of a 1083 (at least when they're not on close-out
), and you won't snap it after 10 fish
Seriously--they're both great rods, and they'll both cast 3/4 oz lures well, but the Batson can cast up to 2-1/2 oz and has more backbone.
