the 1087 is a decent little rod. i wrapped one two years ago for fisshing the Ctriver spring. landed bass up to high 30#'s on it, but did get manhandled on two fish that i couldn't even turn.
throws bombers like a dream, but was definately pushed with 3.5 ounce pencil poppers.
