Anything that deals w/ the last days of Christ seems to rouse the public. I'm glad to see he took the time to try and make this as close to historical as possible.
Remeber they tried to Ban Jesus Christ Superstar when it was released because it dared to mention Jesus and a Prostitute in the same sentence.
If Mel does as good of a job on this as he did on Braveheart (one of my all-time Favorite Movies) it should be spectacular.
It even got the blessing of the pope
