fishing plum island a few years ago with my dad, i was maybe 12 or 13. catchin schoolies YAY!! well anyways we snag some flourescent yellow mono bout 25 pound test and its obvious it goes out a long way so we start pulling it in. BUT. it starts pulling back!!! theres a fish on here it isnt small either. my dad is handlining the fish in while im wading out farther waiting for the fish to come in so i can grab it. i see the fish come to the surface, and i turn around lookin at my dad, mouth open, and just put my hands out sizin up the fish. it was prob around 30 pounds, someone was probally cut off fighting this fish earlier in the day. well we were having alot of trouble holding onto the fish in the current and the line was cutiing my dads hand. the line snapped and the fish about 75 ft from shore just took off. it just ended like that. yup random story haha.
