Eben, how fast were the runs? truly large fish usually won't make lightning runs, but more of a steady sickening run.

there is also the foul hooked scenario. i fought the next world record bass one night at c'town b'way for a good 20 minutes, only to find out it was about a 10 # blue hooked in the pooper!
