I hear ya man. My oldest is heading to UCONN next year.He had great grades, lettered in 3 sports, peer conselor, etc. He had some 1/2 tuition offers from decent schools, but even with that, they would cost the same as UCONN, and I like that school.
4 years behind is his brother, we'll see what happens with him he's got a great aptitude for anything mechanical.I think things have changed, a real sharpie with any trade may have a better future than a kid with a degree these days. When I was a kid, it was "you're smart enough - you should go to college - you'll be all set". It ain't that way anymore.
A lot of the big, new houses in my town are being bought by tradesman these days.
Something to think about.
