i used to use foam but found after a year or two of sliming them they harden and get slippery easily, even if i scrubbed them. also if you decide to redo the rod it is a major pain in the arse to remove the cruddy old foam. i've been using cork for the last couple of years and it feels kinda natural now. recently i won a rod at the S-B tfctf nite that has a 3M non skid type material instead of cork. I'm curious to see if it will chew flesh from my paws or if it is my new found love.
