Usually, these boats will dish out a bunch of clams. When you rent, they also usually rig you up with a hook & weight. You clam up and drop to the bottom and pull up just a little above. What some are talking about is to jig for cod with teasers which can be more productive (but by no means always) than just dunkin' clams. Now I'm no cod expert (or expert anywhere IMO) but a lot of people prepare for both and see which is most productive... Some also mix it up and put teasers on a clam rig...

I figure I'll do a combination of both provided my gear is OK, otherwise, I'll rent and clam it...
